Grilled Wasabi Tuna

This was a wonderful recipe I really enjoyed this, I love tuna and I love wasabi so put the two together and it is always going to be a winner with me. I served this with spinach topped with a sesame sauce and it was the perfect accompaniment, I also served the sauce on the side as a dipping sauce rather than to pour it over the tuna steaks itself. If you would like to read all the reviews of this recipe or to see all the photos please click here. I did make a couple of changes to this one which I will list below nothing major though.

Ingredients

2 Teaspoons toasted sesame seed
2 Teaspoons wasabi powder
2 Teaspoons ground pepper
1 Teaspoon garlic powder
1 pinch salt
4(6 ounce) tuna steaks
1 Tablespoon wasabi powder (I used more but this is just personal preference)
1 Tablespoon water
1/4 Cup mayonnaise
1/4 Cup sour cream
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
2 Tablespoons sliced scallion

Method

All the spice ingredients can be adjusted for the size of the tuna steaks used. You will see from my photo just how big mine were so I needed more than this for 4 as this was only enough for 2.

1. Combine first 5 ingredients, rub over tuna, chill for 30 minutes.

2. Heat grill to high or pan fry.

3. Grill tuna approx 5 Min's per side, to taste. I find 3-4 Min's a side is perfect for medium rare which is the way I prefer my tuna.

4. Combine remaining ingredients by whisking together, serve alongside tuna. This can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until needed.
